Galaxy Note 9 to Feature 128GB of Onboard Storage for the Base Model and Could Go as High as 512GB

The Galaxy Note 9 is set to launch on the 9th of August and in more than one way, it is going to be featuring nearly the same hardware specifications as the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. However, apart from offering buyers a flagship with a marginally larger screen when compared to the Galaxy S9+, the Galaxy Note 9 will also be featuring an S-Pen accessory that will be sporting more features than any other S-Pen Samsung has ever released.

However, will that be enough to make buyers switch to the Galaxy Note 9 when it officially launches? Not quite, but according to a Twitter user by the name of MMDDJ_, the upcoming phablet is going to be offered with more internal storage than the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Both of these devices features 64GB of internal storage which is expandable through a microSD card slot

Still, Samsung plans to go all in with the release of the Galaxy Note 9 by offering it in a 128GB storage model. The Twitter user has also stated in his tweet that the model featuring 128GB of internal storage will get 6GB of RAM, while the one featuring 512GB of storage will get 8GB of RAM. If this is true, the Note 9 might end up becoming the first ever 8GB RAM smartphone from Samsung, giving buyers lots of multitasking options but at a higher price tag, unfortunately.

The 8GB RAM model getting paired with 512GB of onboard storage is certainly overkill for a smartphone, but it will be ideal for users who do not plan to upgrade their devices for several years and want to carry around the majority of their media collection in the smartphone while they are traveling.

Best of all, the storage running in the Galaxy Note 9 will be based on UFS 2.1 speeds, and in simple terms, it means that the internal storage will easily be able to record 4K footage at 60fps without experiencing any form of lag in between. For lots of buyers, 128GB of internal storage is going to be more than enough but it might put tons of risk of the 512GB storage model as it might end up selling in fewer numbers.

It is possible that Samsung plans on producing a limited number of Galaxy Note 9 units bearing 512GB of internal memory but if this model does get released, the company will release it in South Korea first, because there is nothing like conquering the smartphone market on your home ground and then targeting other regions.
