How to fix the ‘Dangerous download blocked’ error in Chrome

Disable Security Features

Go to chrome://settings or just click on the settings icon on the dashboard. 

Scroll to the bottom of the settings page and click on ‘Show advanced settings’

Under advanced settings, you will find a subsection called ‘Privacy and Security’. Under that section, look for an option which says ‘Protect you and your device from dangerous sites’. You just have to turn off this feature.

Once you turn this off, you will be able to download whatever file you want or site you want to visit.

Just be careful about visiting these sites because Google marks them as security threats for a reason. Only download files from sources that you trust, or you may fall prey to all kinds of viruses and malware that exist on the internet.

I also recommend that you turn on this feature once your particular need to access certain ‘dangerous’ files is over. This keeps you protected and secure generally while giving you the choice to override Google’s security decisions when you want to.
