Xiaomi Mi A2 specs and render leaked ahead of launch
Multiple reports over the past couple of weeks have suggested that Xiaomi has a new smartphone in the pipeline called the Xiaomi Mi A2. As far as the design is concerned, it may actually be a rebadged version of the Xiaomi Mi 6X and that’s something which the newly leaked renders of this smartphone hint at as well.
An online retailer in Poland seemingly listed the Xiaomi Mi A2 on its website. The listing contained official-looking renders of the device as well as its specifications. The retailer has since removed the listing for the Xiaomi Mi A2 but the renders and the specs have already spread online.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 will feature a metal build. Packed inside the case will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage. It will also feature a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 2160×1080 resolution display. The device is also said to feature a 12 megapixel + 20 megapixel vertical dual camera system at the back in addition to a 20 megapixel front camera. Measuring in at 158.7 x 75.4 x 7.3mm and weighing 168 grams, this device will also feature a 3,000mAh battery and Android 8.1 Oreo.
Much like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is going to be an Android One device. Google’s Android One program is aimed at expanding the reach of Android in emerging markets. Android One devices offer a stock Android experience so Google’s OEM partners can’t add their own skins, customizations or features to the device. Since there is enough demand for stock Android devices not just in emerging markets but globally, many manufacturers are now adding at least a couple of Android One devices to their portfolios.
Xiaomi has an event scheduled on July 24th in Spain and that’s where it’s expected to launch the Mi A2.
