Fortnite Players Can Now Thank The Bus Driver in Battle Royale

Fortnite developer Epic Games is well known for its open and regular communication with fans. Some time ago, Kody Keddie created a petition on Change.org to Epic Games asking to give players the ability to thank the bus driver in Fortnite Battle Royale. What started off as a meme, quickly caught the attention of a lot of players, especially on the Fortnite subreddit. Today, Kody’s mission is successful as players can now thank the bus driver in Fortnite.

“Since I was just a boy I have always loved jumping out of the battle bus”, Kody states in his Change.org post. “But all this time I have felt something was missing. And that thing is the ability to thank the driver of the battle bus, he or she is truly a great person and they provide us a great service, I think it is time we can truly appreciate their service, don’t you agree?”

Thank The Bus Driver

Discovered by Reddit user u/Flqmingg, players now have the ability to thank the bus driver while aboard the battle bus. He shared his findings via a Reddit post, uploading an image of multiple players performing the generous action. Hitting your open emote menu keybind on PC, or pressing down on the direction pad on consoles, while travelling in the battle bus will display a message on the bottom left of the screen announcing your action to all players in your game.

Although the addition can be attributed to the large number of Reddit posts, what really caught the attention of Epic Games was the Change.org petition that achieved over 20,000 signatures. The original petition has now been removed from the website, but not before succeeding in its mission. It seems that this new addition was part of today’s patch v5.30, which added the Rift-To-Go and a new limited time mode, Score Royale.
