Intel Graphics Driver Update V24.20.100.6286 offers Game Optimizations and Playability Improvements
Intel has recently brought a new update to Intel Graphics Driver which has bumped the version up to 24.20.100.6286. This driver is compatible with 6th, 7th and 8th-generation processors and also some older Xeon, Celeron and Pentium CPUs that have Intel HD Graphics 500 or a better version of it. The new update for Intel Graphics Driver has a lot to offer including game optimizations and playability improvements.
According to the detailed description present on the Intel Download Center of this driver, after the update, the driver has major performance improvements and offers optimizations for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth (for both DirectX* 11 and 12 versions) and Jurassic World Evolution. Some other improvements included in the update are as follows:
- Improved playability for Monster Hunter: World and Vampyr
- Improvements in media streaming while using AVC codec at low bitrates
- Power optimizations while dynamically switching to lower refresh rates during video playback
The driver update also contains a few fixes that are listed below as per the Release Notes:
- Steam* overlay now work in Dota 2* when running in Vulkan* mode
- Minor Graphics anomalies observed in Titanfall® 2 (6th Gen Intel® Core Only), Minecraft*, and LEGO NINJAGO* Movie Video Game – now fixed
- Intermittent crashes or hangs do not occur in Unravel 2*
- While using two displays, the arrangement settings in Windows do not reset any more if the resolution of the second display is changed.
- Inaccurate color no more observed during YouTube* playback in web browsers when hardware acceleration is turned on
- Sketchup* application does not become unresponsive
- Stereoscopic 3D now works when viewing a 3D video
- Remote desktop protocol (RDP) and Virtual Network Computing (VNC) applications showed a black screen when updating the graphics driver in guest user mode – Now Fixed
Perhaps the most notable fix has arrived to the issue of inaccurate color being shown with YouTube playback as hardware acceleration is enabled. Those suffering with this issue are happy with this new update.
Intel further recommends that users keep their drivers up to date from the Intel Driver and Support Assistant. However, updates will not be recommended for customer Intel drivers which were installed by HP or Dell device manufacturers or others.
