Melee Brawler Blood Ancestors Comes to Steam Early Access on August 16th
Blood Ancestors is a first person melee combat game developed and published by Snowpeak Studios. The game by the Spanish based studio lets players choose between 18 characters and fight in 5v5 competitive matches. Last week, the alpha phase of the game ended and was considered successful. Today, Snowpeak Studios announced that Blood Ancestors will be launching on Steam Early Access on August 16th.
A short trailer of the game was shared to celebrate the occasion:
Blood Ancestors
Set in a fantasy medieval world, Blood Ancestors features brutal melee combat between 18 classes, each with different skills. The 1.0 release of the game will feature 18 classes and 6 playable maps. Players can customize their character to their hearts content and have the ability to choose between 150 skills to create their own build.
“We’re thrilled with the success we’ve had so far with the open alpha,” said David Broto, co-founder of Snowpeak studio. “The feedback from players has been invaluable and inspires us to continue to improve the game in order to deliver the best possible experience for our players, we’re excited to bring Blood Ancestors to Early Access in just a few weeks!”
In the Early Access version of Blood Ancestors, players can choose from 6 classes to fight in 3 playable maps, with more coming in the full release. Your playstyle will depend on how you customized your character and which path you took in the talent trees of offense, defense, and utility.
According to the developers, Blood Ancestors Early Access is essentially an early beta version of the game. In the full 1.0 build, which will be released in the first half of 2019, the game will feature a complete competitive mode and tournament mechanic as well as a rank system. They also state that the price of the game will be increased after it exits the Early Access phase. Blood Ancestors Early Access is available for PC via Steam starting August 16th.
