PUBG Mobile Surpasses 100 Million Downloads with 14 Million Daily Players

PUBG Mobile is the mobile adaptation of the popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The game is developed by Tencent Games and PUBG Corp. Launched on iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play on March 19th, PUBG Mobile quickly became one of the most played mobile games.

Four months since its release, PUBG Mobile has hit a huge milestone of over 100 million downloads. Additionally, over 14 million players play the game on a daily basis. When compared to the 3 million players all-time peak of the PC version, the success of PUBG Mobile is truly incredible.

“We want to thank our committed development team at Lightspeed and Quantum Studios and especially thank the devoted players around the world that continue to inspire us with their passion and dedication,” states General Manager of PUBG Mobile, “We will continue to set the bar for mobile gaming and look to deliver even more great contents to our players later this year.”

PUBG Mobile has been available all over the world except for China, Japan and Korea. Only a week after launch, PUBG Mobile took the spot of the most downloaded mobile game in over 100 countries. After the addition of the ‘Royale Pass’, revenue of the game reached upwards of $30 million.

Developers of PUBG Mobile, Tencent Games, recently announced their partnership with Paramount Pictures to develop new content for the game. The sponsored event based on the film “Mission: Impossible Fallout” adds new outfits, challenges and other cosmetics to the game.

With the battle royale genre continuing to make its mark on the mobile world, competition arises as development on Fortnite mobile progresses. Fortnite has been available on iOS for a while now, with beta invites for the Android version being sent out. We will have to wait and see which game takes the lead and is crowned as the better battle royale game on mobile.
