Rainbow Six Siege’s Upcoming Operation is titled Grim Sky

As Operation Para Bellum, the second season of the third year of Rainbow Six Siege, comes to a close, the upcoming season is just around the corner. Previously, Ubisoft said that season three will be the first operation to feature operators from two different CTUs. Today, the upcoming season, Operation Grim Sky, was officially announced.

Operation Grim Sky

In operation Grim Sky, two new operators, each from different CTUs, will join Rainbow’s Urban Tactical Response Team, codenamed Grim Sky (or GSUTR). The first operator is a defender from Great Britian. “She’s a tough police officer who’s an expert on mob behavior and snatch-squad tactics. She knows she belongs on the front line and she won’t tolerate any nonsense,” reads the official announcement post.

The second operator is an attacker from America. He is described as “a specialist with a remarkably sharp mind when it comes to tactical operations. He has seen the worst in Kabul. Despite it all, he fell in love with the city. Legendary for his surgical precision, he remains an enigma within Rainbow Six.”

Map Rework

Hereford Base, a map that was removed from the ranked and proleague playlist a long time ago, will be making a return in Grim Sky. For the first time, Ubisoft has completely reworked the map in order to “raise the bar for competitive play.”

Weapon Misalignment

A long time issue that has persisted in Rainbow Six Siege is the misalignment of several weapons, for example the L85A2. Ubisoft has made several attempts to fix it, but technical limitations prevented the problem from being completely fixed. In Grim Sky, Ubisoft addresses the issue with some “much-anticipated modifications.”

Optimizations and quality of live changes such as Operator Idle Pick and resolution scaling on consoles are also on the way. The full reveal for Operation Grim Sky will be streamed live after the Six Major in Paris on August 17th – 19th.
