3D Shoot’ em Up Rigid Force Alpha Launches on Steam

On August 31st, independent game developer com8com1 launched their latest title, a side-scrolling shooter, Rigid Force Alpha on Steam. Set in space, Rigid Force Alpha has the player fighting off hordes of aliens and machines in a weaponized fighter. The full game, including the original soundtrack composed by Dreamtime and Michael Chait, is now available on PC.

Inspired by the old retro side-scrolling shooter games, Rigid Force Alpha modernizes the concept by introducing updated graphics and new game mechanics. Combining the ‘hand-crafted’ 3D visuals, incredible backgrounds and the beautiful visual effects, the game offers a rich shooter experience for all. Moreover, the game contains a weapon upgrade system which allows players to use Force Shards to increase their weapon’s effectiveness. Players can fill up their energy supply bar by collecting Energy Orbs in order to “unleash extremely powerful blasts” upon the enemies.

“We are immensely proud to bring Rigid Force Alpha to gamers world-wide. We have worked selflessly on the game since 2011 and it is our first title,” said Head of Design and Production, Marcel Rebenstorf. “We hope that players enjoy playing it as much as we have been enjoying creating it.”

Rigid Force Alpha offers a cinematic gameplay experience thanks to its exciting story and synthwave soundtrack. Players can either dive into the story campaign, or try for a high score in the arcade or Boss Rush game modes. With numerous unique weapons and a variety of upgrades available, every run of the game is filled to the brim with non-stop action. Currently, the game features six playable levels, each with a unique and pretty 3D background. Players also have the option to customize the difficulty to their liking.

Rigid Force Alpha is now available on PC via Steam. The original soundtrack for the game is also on sale, and the two items are bundled together for a 10% discount.
