Microsoft announces Desktop App Assure to address Office 365 ProPlus app and Windows 10 Compatibility issues
With the announcement of the release of several tools for making shift to a modern desktop easier, Microsoft also announced its introduction of Desktop App Assure which is “a new service from Microsoft FastTrack designed to address issues with Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus app compatibility.” As a leader in the software world, Microsoft is continuously looking at ways in which it can make activities easier for its corporate customers. With the release of this new app, Microsoft aims to fix custom applications which may be negatively impacted as a consequence of updating to Office 365 product suite or Windows 10.
The company claims that Windows 10 is its most compatible operating system and results from millions of data points obtained through customer diagnostic data and Windows Insider Validation process shows that almost 99% of applications are compatible with latest Windows updates. Users can conveniently expect that applications which work on Windows 7 shall continue to work on Windows 10 and related feature updates. However, if there are any compatibility issues with Office 365 ProPlus or Windows 10, Desktop App Assure has been especially designed to help users fixing the issue. Users will only need to file a ticket through FastTrack which will be followed up by a Microsoft engineer to work along with the user until the problem has been solved.
In summary, Desktop App Assure operationalizes Office 365 ProPlus and Windows 10 compatibility commitment: “We’ve got your back on app compatibility and are committed to removing it entirely as a blocker.”
The best thing about this app is that it will be offered to Windows 10 Education and Windows 10 Enterprise customers at no additional cost. According to Microsoft blog, more details on this new service will be shared at Ignite and will possibly begin to preview this service on 1st October 2018 in North America. It will become available throughout the world on 1st February, 2019.
The introduction of Windows Desktop Analytics and Desktop App Assure are aimed at assisting customers in moving to a modern desktop experience powered by Office 365 and Windows 10.
