Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Developers Announce New Nintendo Switch Software

Business Division 8 from Square Enix, the developers of the popular free-to-play mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, have announced that they plan to program an action RPG title for the Nintendo Switch. The company has also made games like Bahamut Disco and Seiken Densetsu. Apparently, they’re on a recruitment drive for the time being.

Square Enxi 8BD, as the group is often known, is looking for Project Assistants that can help develop the title. Nothing is really known about it right now and they haven’t said whether or not this unspecified RPG would have anything to do with the other series that the developer is known for or not. More than likely, it would at least have some ties to Final Fantasy or one of their other popular franchises, but to what degree remains to be seen.

Gamers have been speculating on the news, saying that the title will more than likely be an exclusive piece of software for the Nintendo Switch. Considering 8BD’s experience with coding mobile games, it looks like they’ll probably focus on touchscreen navigation and possibly menu-driven options when it comes to the user interface.

Earlier titles such as Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII were brought up as possible options to base the game off of. While this sort of wild speculation is just that, it would make sense to copy the style of gameplay brought by this kind of third-person shooter as it would be an ideal mechanism for the unique control scheme provided by the Nintendo Switch.

Critics have voiced concerns about issuing another title into already crowded franchises. There are those who would like to HD remakes of older Final Fantasy titles, which again could be adapted very well to the hybrid gaming style the Switch is known for.

Regardless of any comments such as these, it certainly does look like the title should do fairly well once it does get released. Judging by the fan response so far, it appears that it would already have a ready market of gamers who prefer an action RPG to something that’s driven more by a scheme requiring the player to select different configuration options.
