HP introduces powerful trio of workstations with Intel’s Xeon E-2100 processors

HP today announced its release of a trio of workstations which it claims are the world’s most powerful in their respective series. These workstations are called Z2 Tower G4, SFF G4 and Mini G4. The special thing about these entry-level workstations is that they include the latest Xeon E-2100 processors that Intel released last week. These processors are especially designed for entry-level workstations to provide them with strong, single-threaded application performance. According to Intel, With today’s workloads, aging workstations impede productivity, collaboration and creativity. The release of the Intel Xeon E processor is intended to deliver the essential performance and visuals for entry workstations, as well as optimizing the innovative form factors, designs and diverse requirements of our customers.”

The vice president and general manager of HP Z workstations, Xavier Garcia commented, “The number one thing we hear from creative professionals and other power users is the need for higher performance [sic] PCs built to meet their needs. Our new HP Z workstation portfolio addresses this by delivering the world’s most powerful entry workstations.” He further added, “By combining superb graphics performance, flexible configuration options, integrated software experiences in the world’s most secure desktop workstations, the new HP Z lineup has been thoughtfully designed to unleash creativity, maximize productivity and reinvent future workflows.”

HP Z2 Mini G4

HP is claiming this workstation to be the world’s most powerful one in the form factor of only 2.7 liters. Coming with Nvidia Quadro P1000 graphics, or can be configured with AMD Pro WX4150. Owing to its small size, it can be mounted right under the user’s desk, even with hexa-core Xeon CPU power. Its price starts at $799.

Z2 SFF (Small Form Factor) G4

This workstation has 50% greater processing power as compared to the previous generation and has a new six-core CPU. According to HP, it remains the most expandable SFF workstation. It has four PCIe slots with two M.2 storage slots. It is flexible enough to offer users with the capability for customizing network, I/O, or the display requirements without employing a PCIe slot. Its price range will begin from $749.

Z2 Tower G4

This workstation is the true powerhouse of the entire HP workstation family. It can be configured with up to an Nvidia Quadro P5000 GPU with a memory of 16GB GDDR5X. Its 64GB RAM allows it to handle the toughest workloads. This particular workstation will begin from the price of $769.

All of these latest workstations are scheduled to become available later in July.
