Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PlayStation 4 Beta Live, PC Phase Starts Next Week

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the latest title in the series developed by Treyarch and published by Activison. Ahead of its release on October 12th, the beta for the game is currently underway. The Private Multiplayer BETA is available now on PlayStation 4 for those who have pre-ordered Black Ops 4.

Black Ops 4: Private Multiplayer Beta

In the first beta, which is currently in progress, participants get to experience the multiplayer mode of Black Ops 4. Just like its predecessors, the multiplayer mode features action packed combat with customization, but this time a new tactical element. The purpose of this beta is to perform stress tests on game systems and get an idea of the situation at launch.

The current version of the beta features six maps, ten different Specialists, and the new Control game mode. Specialists are playable characters that each have their own unique weapons, equipment and playstyles. Unlike other Call of Duty games, Black Ops 4 encourages players to take part in tactical gameplay by developing strategies and combining Specialist skills.

The multiplayer beta is split into two sessions, weekend one and weekend two.

Multiplayer BETA Weekend One:
Starts August 3rd 6PM BST and runs till August 6th 6PM BST. This session will only be available on the PlayStation 4.

Multiplayer BETA Weekend Two:
Starts August 10th 6PM BST and runs till August 13th 6PM BST. This session will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.

Additionally, a PC exclusive open beta will run from August 11th 6PM BST to August 13th 6PM BST.

“We built Black Ops 4 for the community, which is why getting the game early into players’ hands through the BETA is so important to us, especially as we hit the home stretch and polish the game for launch,” said Dan Bunting, Co-Studio Head, Treyarch. “The team at the studio is dedicated to delivering the deepest and most rewarding multiplayer we’ve ever made, and we want community feedback to make the game’s launch the best it can be – we can’t wait for fans to jump in and let us know what they think.”

Participation Rewards

Participants of the beta will be entitled to receive special in-game rewards. A unique, one of a kind calling card will be rewarded to all players of the beta . For those who want more, obtaining total max rank during the beta phase will grant you one permanent unlock token that will unlock any item from the Create-A-Class menu. The rewards will automatically activate when the game launches on October 12th.
