Thousands of Redditors Order Sennheiser Headphones after Employees-Only Coupon Leak

In probably one of the most hilarious tech-related stories we’ve covered, it seems that a coupon code intended for BestBuy employees to use on the Sennheiser website somehow leaked its way to Reddit over the weekend.

Its unknown how the coupon code was leaked (theories abound), but what we do know is that the code (Bestbuy60) was intended for employees of BestBuy to purchase Sennheiser products through the website with a special employee-discount coupon. The coupon was for 60% off all Sennheiser products, and could in fact be “stacked” with other coupons.

This led to literally thousands of Reddit users, mostly on the R/Headphones channel, flocking to the Sennheiser website and purchasing premium-grade headphones (such as the HD 660 S series, which retails for around $500 USD) for as low as $200.

Some Redditors were even posting their shipping and tracking confirmations from Sennheiser, and some were even trying to purchase in bulk (most likely for resale).

The fun didn’t last very long, as Sennheiser apparently sent out a mass-cancellation of all orders using the code, and no Redditors have posted confirmation that they actually received the products. In the future, it probably helps to remember – if something seems too good to be true, it probably is (though it would’ve been awesome if Sennheiser went through with the orders).
