Intel Coffee Lake 9900K, 9700K, 9600K Support Added In CPU-Z Update

Next generation Intel Coffee Lake CPUs are supposed to be around the corner and the upcoming CPUs have been spotted in the latest update of CPU-Z. These upcoming CPUs include the CPUs with an unlocked multiplier; the Intel Coffee Lake 9900K, 9700K, and 9600K. But the locked CPUs have also been spotted, these are the Intel Coffee Lake 9600, 9500 And 9400.

While reports indicate that these chips will be coming out in the next month or so, we know for sure that the Intel Coffee Lake refresh is going to be released before the end of the year. We also know that these chips are going to be based on the same 14nm process that we have seen around for a couple of years now. Ther will be a top of the line core i9 model that will come with 8 cores and 16 threads.

There will also be an 8 core i7 SKU. Other than that things should be pretty much the same. 6 cores for the i5 parts, 4 cores for the i3 parts and that is pretty much it. We also know for sure that the 10nm process has been delayed and that the chips coming out this year, as well as the first half of 2019, will be based on the 14nm process. 10nm based chips will be on the shelves in the second half of 2019.

It will be interesting what kind of performance benefits these chips will have to offer keeping in mind that they are based on the same old process. AMD, on the other hand, has chips based on the 12nm process already out now. AMD has also confirmed that the 7nm process chips will be sampled later this year and will be released in 2019, so by the time Intel finally releases the 10nm based chips, AMD will have released the 7nm based chips.

Intel has also released a trailer for Intel Arctic Sound, that shows that the gaming graphics cards will be released in 2020. If that is the case then Intel will not only be competing with AMD in the CPU market but also with both AMD and Nvidia in the graphics market as well. That will be very interesting indeed.
