Microsoft Rolls Out Update for Azure File Sync Agent (August 2018)

There is a new update for all the administrators who use the Azure File Sync Agent in the Microsoft Azure environment. Microsoft has recently rolled out an update on 14th August 2018 that resolves the memory leak in the agent.

According to Microsoft Support, update KB4456224 (Update Rollup for Azure File Sync Agent: August 2018) resolves a memory leak that results in an error 0x8007000E. Microsoft stated:

‘Fixes an issue that causes sync sessions to fail and return an “out of memory error (0x8007000e)” error message because of a memory leak.’

This latest update has been made available for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016 installations where the Azure File Sync General Availability Agent (3.1.0.0) is installed.

Users can download the updates for the Azure File Sync Agent via Microsoft Update or manual download (Update Rollup for Azure File Sync Agent – August 2018 (KB 4456224)).

The agent version is 3.2.0.0, once the installation of the update is complete, a restart may be required If files are used during the update installation.
