Psychological Horror Game Lucius III Confirmed, Launches on Steam later this year

The third and possibly the last installment in the psychological horror series by Shiver Games has been announced. The independent game developer from Helsinki, Finland confirmed today that Lucius III, sequel to Lucius and Lucius II is in the works and will be released some time in 2018.

To celebrate the news, Shiver Games shared a thrilling announcement trailer for Lucius III, check it out below:

Lucius III

“Lucius is back. In a whole new narrative experience, he now returns to his old neighborhood of Winter Hill. The path will be a difficult one, trials and tribulations waiting ahead,” reads the Steam listing for Lucius III. “Has he made the right choices? Is it finally the time to end it all?”

The game plays as a narrative experience that is displayed through both the gameplay and the story. Throughout the adventure, the well crafted environment of the world only adds to the horror aspect of Lucius III. Set in a creepy little town named Winter Hill, the story follows the main character, Lucius. The first two games in the series laid the foundation for the cinematic story of Lucius as he works to fulfill the prophecy of the rapture. Combined with the gory and violent graphics, the game features melancholic and depressive events which help create a more immersive gameplay experience.

With such a heavy focus on the story, it is surprising that Lucius III does not lack on gameplay features. Aside from the emotionally exhausting storyline, players can explore Winter Hill through the eyes of a villain protagonist. The player has access to a variety of powerful magical abilities which they can use to assist them on their quest. Additionally, Lucius III implements a beautifully composed soundtrack which consists of over twenty songs.

Although a release date has not yet been announced, Lucius III is expected to be released on Steam sometime in 2018.
